How to measure your countertop

Choose one reference side for the entire piece. All dimensions are in inches.

ALL MEASUREMENTS ARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PURCHASER.

OPTIONAL: Have one of our professional template staff from Slab Shaper come to your location and template for $150, to professionally measure and guarantee our measurements. Service is available throughout all delivery areas.

1. Face the FRONT of the cabinet. Choose LEFT or RIGHT.

Usually choose the side against a wall. Use that SAME finished edge for the full length, every sink centerline, and every faucet centerline. Do not mix sides or measure one sink from another sink. The online form allows only one side for the entire piece.

2. Measure the finished length and depth.

Use a tape measure and record to the nearest 1/8 inch. Measure twice. Allow approximately 1.5 inches of overhang beyond the cabinet at the non-wall end. Include that in the finished length; do not add it twice when measuring an existing top. A right-wall layout works the same way, starting at the right.

Depth runs from the back edge to the front edge, not up the backsplash. Note hidden back edges, tight wall openings, uneven walls, or unusual shapes. Confirm the proposed overhang fits your cabinets and space.

3. Measure to the center of each sink and faucet.

Center the faucet behind the middle of its sink: use the SAME centerline measurement for both. For two sinks, do this separately for each sink using your selected edge. For a multi-hole faucet, measure to the faucet/spout center, not the first hole. If you change the selected side online, re-enter all centerlines from that side.

These are separate examples. Choose ONE method for your piece — never combine them.

Left-side example

Sink = 30 in; faucet = 30 in from the LEFT finished edge.

Right-side example

Sink = 30 in; faucet = 30 in from the RIGHT finished edge.

Faucet holes

Choose 0–4 faucet holes per sink. All faucet holes are 1 3/8 inches in diameter. Choose 0 to tell us NOT to drill; leave that faucet centerline blank. Put accessory holes in your notes. Send sink and faucet specifications so we can confirm hole spacing and front-to-back placement.
